Moving from another system
Move from your old system without retyping years of tenants
Most agencies already keep their tenants somewhere: another system, a spreadsheet or a book. Estate Ledger brings them in with their balances, so the books open right.

One template each for landlords, properties, units, tenants and leases. Export from your old system, or fill them in from your spreadsheet.
Opening balances
The day you start, the books start from what is true.
- What each tenant owed, as opening bills, and what they had paid ahead, as credit.
- What you owe each landlord, as their opening balance.
- The deposits you hold, lease by lease.
- Cash in hand and at the bank, by method.
A dry run first
The import first runs without saving anything, and lists every row it would add and every row to fix, with the reason. Fix them, run it again, and import when it is clean.
